The Egyptian God of the desert, Sutekh. He is the son of Geb and Nut, and brother to Osiris. He is one of the two "chief Gods," the other being Ra. He has immense powers of destruction, and he is the patron deity of Soldiers and Warriors.
Sutekh had, probably in a fit of envy and hate, killed his brother Orisis. Isis, using her husband's corpse, conceived Horus.
Great piece! My favourite Egyptian personality ( after Anubis ). Plus, I always thought that Horus was a complete pussy, the way he kept running to his mother during his battles with Set/Sutekh.
lol! I like all the Egyption deities, really. But *I* admit I like Horus and Osiris the best. Sutekh, however, is incredibly badass. I love drawing these ancient deities. I'm working on another Horus right now... and I might continue to do some more down the road as well.

I love it!! The speckles on his skin are a nice touch. Kudos on the head for keeping it true to his original form... 99.999% of people who draw him just make him some sort of anubis knock-off dog thing.
You really need to start selling prints of your work.

Seriously.. sparkling vampires? F*cking ghey. Give me Christopher Lee over that shit any day.
Well hey, I don't wanna draw these deities all weird and anime-ish, like some artists on DA have done (I've done the searches, it was horrible) Most people probably can't grasp just WHAT he is to begin with. I had to do some resreach in order to understand. Wiki says many people have speculated that he is somekind of mix of Jackal, Aardvark, and Donkey. But who knows, eh? I mean, when I saw the links you gave me I was like "What the hell is that thing?" It's all cleared up now.
I have a few of my images for sale as prints, but I'm not happy with the sizes and options and stuff here. If you're interested in having it adorning your mantle piece, I'd be happy to send you the original.
